These are available in various weights and constructions with a variety of coatings, treatments and finishes.
Our range includes:
Glass webbing and ladder tapes are manufactured from air textured filament E glass yarns and provide a high volume of entrapped air and consequent good thermal insulation.
The basic fibres are lightweight, resilient, incombustible and suitable for operation in applications of up to 550°C.
Can be reinforced with Inconel wire if required.
Glass webbing and ladder tapes are resistant to oils, most chemicals and solvents. Will not rot and is unaffected by bacterial growth.
Suitable for temperatures up to 550°C.
Have a medium thermal conductivity.
Hose and cable protection, jointing and seals.
Ceramic fibre woven webbing and ladder tapes are manufactured from high performance ceramic fibre yarns reinforced with either a wire or glass filament.
Ceramic fibre yarns are produced on traditional textile machinery by carding high purity 1260°C grade ceramic fibres with a percentage of cellulose fibre to assist in the processing. The yarns are then spun and combined with the relevant reinforcing media to improve the tensile strength at extended temperatures.
The organic content will burn off at temperatures above 200°C without affecting the properties of the ceramic fibre however adequate ventilation should be provided during this initial heating.
Where tensile strength is important the temperature limitations of the reinforcing media should be considered.
Ceramic fibres are resistant to oils, solvents and most chemicals although contact with phosphoric, hydrofluoric acids and strong alkalis should be avoided.
Are non combustible.
Are suitable for use at temperatures up to 1260°C dependant on application.
Colour: White.
Reinforcement
Temp Limitations: >E= glass filament suitable for temperatures up to 550°C.
Nickel chrome alloy wire suitable for temperatures up to 1091°C.
Chemical: Alumino-Silicate 80%
Al2O3 46%
SiO2 53%
Cellulose 20%
Tolerance +/-5%
Typical Application:
Ductwork flange gasketing, furnace / boiler door seal, cable and pipe protection.
Standard (Glass Braid)
Supplied in:
Light weight, resilient, high temperature material, with low thermal conductivity; resistant to thermal shock; excellent thermal stability; low heat storage; excellent corrosion resistance.
Resists attack from most corrosive agents with the exception of hydrofluoric acid, phosphoric acid & concentrated alkali's.
The rope will continue to function after the braiding yarn has melted (at approx 550°C) as long as it is contained.
Suitable for expansion joint packing in boilers, furnaces, kilns, etc., and as a door joint seal in coke ovens.
High Temperature (Glass / Inconel Braid)
Supplied in:
Details of material as for standard ceramic fibre rope lagging, but the glass / inconel braid will continue to function at temperatures up to approx 1100°C continuous 1400°C max.
